Amplifiers
Teledyne Microwave UK designs and manufactures RF amplifiers using the latest semiconductor technology. Our portfolio includes low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), power amplifiers, and pre-amplifiers. These can incorporate linearization, filtering, phase, and amplitude control functionality. Read more. High Power Amplifiers
Solid State Power Amplifier (SSPA) technology continues to offer opportunities to displace Travelling Wave Tube Amplifiers (TWTA) from radar, communication and Electronic Warfare (EW) applications.
Teledyne Microwave UK continuously develops new power amplifiers and higher-level integration of multifunctional assemblies across a variety of markets, including space and defence. Recently completed designs cover the spectrum from L-Band through to V-Band. Read more.
Gunn Diodes
The Gunn diode is the best-known and most readily available device in the family of transferred electron devices (TED). They are employed as DC to microwave converters using the negative resistance characteristics of bulk Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) and only require a standard, low impedance, constant voltage power supply, thereby eliminating complex circuitry. Teledyne Microwave UK’s DC1200 series of GaAs Gunn diodes is designed for operation at fixed frequency (determined by the oscillator cavity) within a specified band under CW or pulsed conditions. Linearizers & Equalizers
Linearizers and equalizers improve RF amplifier performance by addressing non-linearities and gain variations. Linearizers pre-distort signals to counteract amplifier distortion, enhancing spectral efficiency and reducing DC power consumption. Equalizers flatten gain across frequencies, ensuring consistent performance in wideband systems. Read more.
Millimeter-Wave Mixers
Teledyne Microwave UK designs and manufactures custom Single Balance Mixers for operation up to 110 GHz. All our devices are based on our beam lead Schottky diodes produced at our in-house Semiconductor Technology Facility. The benefit of using these higher-functioning semiconductors can be seen in the performance that Teledyne Microwave UK obtains from its millimeter-wave Mixers. Read more.
RF Converter Modules
Typically designed for radar or wideband EMC test applications, our frequency converter modules are designed for the conversion between complex baseband waveforms and higher transmitted frequencies. These modules are ideal for integration with digitising modules. Read more.
RF Switches
Teledyne Microwave UK offers a range of RF switches, including single-pole, single-throw (SPST) and single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) variants, as well as SP3T variants. Our range of switches covers a broad frequency spectrum, 0 to 18GHz, and provides reliable, high-performance, and low-cost options to meet various design needs. Read more.
Schottky Diodes
Teledyne Microwave UK GaAs beam lead Schottky diodes for the up/down conversion of millimetre wave detected signals are designed for applications which demand ultimate performance. The device is easily assembled onto a wide variety of surface mount substrates using thermo-compression, thermo-sonic or epoxy bonding techniques. Read more.
Low Noise Amplifiers
Our range of ITAR Free, Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs) cover a variety of applications but are primarily suited to airborne, maritime and ground based radar systems. LNAs are primarily intended to minimise added noise whilst providing high gain so design focusses on the parameters associated with the noise response of the amplifier. They are usually the first amplifier in the Radar detection chain and will have the lowest noise figure. Read more.
