What is the difference between Normally Open and Latching?
Normally Open switches are Normally Open; when a position is energized, the Open contacts will Close, until voltage is removed. It will then revert back to the Normally Open position. These are commonly used in applications where a default known state is required.
Latching switches will remain in the last energized position until the next position is energized. It is commonly used in applications where power consumption is critical or limited.
